Time to hit the road...
When last we saw our intrepid duo...
...they were on the precipice of a great adventure. Alvin had convinced Kate to come back to run the theater. So many questions were yet to be answered, though, and our friend Kate is not one to let them go unasked.
Meet Rose Rosenkrantz
...and so they drive on...
...and things get strange. While it should normally take hours to reach Minnesota from New York (if not days), Kate nods off for a quick nap and wakes up in an entirely different place, with entirely "different" people. Kate's about to meet two of Port Luisa's most "theatrical" residents: Martin Brando (Yes, that's what his parents named him.) and Rose Rosenkrantz.
In case you've yet to notice...
...the people of Port Luisa are not your typical Great Lakes shipping town folks. Just take the town postal worker, Rose Rosenkrantz, for example. Not one to wear a uniform, but definitely one to know a secret or two about the town. Rose is a regular fixture around the theater, having befriended Martin a while back.
In our next episode...
...we meet even more of the town. In fact, if you asked her, our next new friend would describe herself as the center of the town...if not the state...or even the country. Wait, why stop there? She has a running theory that it may even be the universe!

Now it's Martin's turn...
Kate arrives in Port Luisa...
...much quicker than science should've allowed. As she wakes up from her nap, Martin sits outside of Alvin's parked car. It is indeed portentous that Martin is the first person she meets when she gets back to town, but more on that as the story unfolds...
